The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.   The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.    Psalms 110:1-2

God, the Heavenly Father, told Jesus, His Son (our Lord), to sit down at His right hand, until He made His enemies (Satan and his horde of demons) His footstool (or brought them under His Authority and Rule).

Zion, in the Old Testament, can be a type and shadow of the Church today.   The Heavenly Father not only told His Son, to sit at His right hand, but also told Him how He would place His enemies under His feet.   He would send the authority and power of Christ Jesus through His people, the Church, to put His enemies under His feet.

But this man (Jesus), after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God (the Father); From henceforth expecting (or waiting) till His enemies be made his footstool.    Hebrews 10:12-13
