    Forgiven!

How can God ever forgive me?                   You just don't know what all I have done!

I promise you,  regardless of what you have done,  God will forgive you.

What does God say about forgiving us of our sins?

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.   For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.   As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.       Psalm 103:10-12

In these verses, we see, regardless of what our sins are, in His great mercy, God has removed our sins from us, as far as the east is from the west.   If you leave the north pole headed south, you will reach the south pole and then, if you continue on, you will find yourself headed north.   But if you head east you will just keep going around the earth, never reaching west.   That is how far God removes your sin from you.

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.       Isaiah 43:25

When God forgives us our sins, He blots them out and remembers them no more.   Other words, God not only blots them out, but, chooses not to remember them ever again.

Jesus went to the Cross, shed His Blood and gave His life that we can be forgiven and have eternal life.   Jesus was sinless, yet on the Cross, God, made Jesus to be sin (II Corinthians 5:21) that sin might be crucified, so we could be forgiven.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.       II Corinthians 5:21

Every sin ever committed by mankind, or that ever would be committed, was placed upon Jesus on the Cross (Colossians 2:14), He paid the price for it all.   Jesus bore our sins (I Peter 2:24) while He hung on the Cross.

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.      Colossians 2:14

Who his own self bare our sins in his body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.       I Peter 2:24

You know what really blesses me, God didn't say, "Lloyd, if you will clean up your act first, I will die for you."   He said, "Lloyd, I have already died for you (Romans 5:8-10), if you will come to me, accept what I did at Calvary, I will forgive you your sins and will be your Lord and Saviour.   Then, I will be your strength and will help you clean up your act".   Awesome!!

But God commendeth his love toward us, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.   Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.   For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.       Romans 5:8-10

When we come to Jesus, and ask Him into our heart (believe with our heart and confess with our mouth, Romans 10:8-10), God forgives us of all our past sins.

But what saith it?   The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.       Romans 10:8-10

God knew, that even though we were born-again, we might still have a sin problem.   So, being the God of love, grace, and mercy that He is, He made sure there was a way to deal with it.   In Psalm 32:5 and I John 1:7-10; I John 2:1 we are told that if we will acknowledge and confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins through the Blood of Jesus.   I am not saying this is a licence to continue in our sins, for we must repent and turn from our suns.   But, sometimes, because we are human, we fall and sin.

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.   I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity if my sin.       Psalm 32:5

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.   If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.   My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.   and if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;       I John 1:7-10,   I John 2:1

God will forgive you your sins if you will only turn toward Him, and allow Him to cleanse you with the Blood of Christ Jesus.

    OK, Questions:

Have you Confessed your sins to God allowing Him to forgive you?

Have you ask Him into your heart as Savior and confessed Him as Lord?

If so, have you forgiven yourself for those sins??

Have you turned them loose and forgotten them?   If not, why not??   God has forgiven you, why can't you forgive yourself??   Many people live a life of torment and hopelessness simply because they continue to live a life of guilt and condemnation.   If God has forgiven you of your past sins there should be no guilt or condemnation.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.       Romans 8:1

Question:   When the enemy comes to you bringing up your past trying to make you feel useless, worthless, and no good, what do you do?

Do you coward and fall prey to his attack or do you stand up on your feet and remind him God has forgiven you of those things and they are forgiven, forgotten, and do not exist.

As a Born-again Believer, you are a Blood Covenant Child of the Living God, forgiven!
